Excellent Customer Service in Action

I have written a lot about keeping your customers informed and staying positive in customer service.  I had an experience last night where someone seemed to follow all of my “rules” and provided us with excellent service.

My boyfriend and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the (pretty pathetic) Mavs game.  We had a waitress who was also a full-time teacher and had the friendly “teacher vibe”.  She followed two of my favorite customer service rules

First, I ordered some delicious wings and she told me, upfront, that the ranch would cost extra.  It seems like a small thing, but sometimes people omit information like that.  It’s great to keep your customers informed and let them know everything upfront so nothing surprises them at the end.  It makes everyone happier overall and less stressed.

Secondly, she was incredibly positive.  She dealt with quite a few obnoxious people during the night, but never let her smile leave her face.  She stayed upbeat and didn’t argue with anything the obnoxious people said to her.
